SportPesa Sponsors the 2016 National League

Africa’s number one sports betting platform, SportPesa, has become the Official Sponsor of the 2016 National Boxing League after presenting a sponsorship cheque of KSh20million.

With this partnership between BAK and Pevans ((EA) Ltd, the company behind the SportPesa platform,  the national league shall now be known as the SportPesa National League. The sponsorship will run for three years.

Presenting the cheque in the presence of the Cabinet Secretary for Sport, Culture and the Arts, the company’s officials, Kester Shimonyo and Andrew Sikwe, hailed the BAK for the great work the federation has undertaken in the past three years to improve boxing in Kenya.

BAKSportPesa4During the presentation event, BAK President, John Kameta, said it was the first time that a corporate sponsor had come up to partner with the federation and paid tribute to the company for their support.

“Today, we are proud to bring on board SportPesa as the first ever sponsor of amateur boxing in Kenya. This is the first time boxing has had a corporate sponsor to partner with the federation in its activities. It goes without saying that boxing in Kenya is on the rise again. Our sincere thanks and gratitude to SportPesa”, he said.

Kameta assured the sponsor that BAK shall utilize this money well by channeling it to the intended purpose.

He also applaud the management of Modern Fitness Gym Lounge in Mombasa that allowed the Africa Olympics selections and the cheque presentation events to be held at their premises.
